Swedish Massage

Swedish massage is one of the most commonly offered massage techniques and it aims to promote relaxation by releasing muscle tension.
Swedish massage is gentler than deep tissue massage and better suited for people interested in relaxation and tension relief.
Swedish massage may loosen up tight muscles caused by daily activities such as sitting at the computer or exercising. It can be very helpful for people who hold a lot of tension in their low back, shoulders and neck.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage is similar to Swedish massage, but it goes farther and is intended for a different purpose.
Deep tissue massage is best suited for people with chronic pain conditions such as Fibromayalgia and low back pain.
Deep tissue massage targets all layers of your muscles, tendons and fascia (connective tissue)
Deep tissue massage uses many of the same stroking and kneading movements as Swedish massage, but there’s far more pressure. This pressure can sometimes be uncomfortable.
In order to reach the deep muscle tissue, a therapist will massage layer by layer of muscle, applying more and more pressure and employing special techniques with the fingers, fists, and maybe even elbows to reach and stretch that deep tissue.
This type of massage facilitates healing by releasing contracted areas of muscle and tissue. It can help increase blood flow to the soft tissues and may help to reduce inflammation.

Therapeutic Massage

Therapeutic Massage incorporates a variety of advanced modalities that activate the body’s natural restorative functioning. Different therapeutic techniques can be used to release tension, relax muscles, increase blood and lymph circulation, and impart a sense of calm. Therapeutic massage can be used as a collaborative, supportive addition to conventional medical treatment of illness and injury, alleviating pain and stress, aiding soft tissue healing, and revitalizing the muscles and body. Therapeutic Massage techniques used often during treatment are Craniosacral, Myofascial release, Proprioseptive Neuromuscular Facilitation, Acupuressure, Triggerpoint Therapy and Reiki.

Thai Massage

Thai yoga massage is a traditional healing system combining acupressure, Indian Ayurvedic principles, and assisted yoga postures. The idea of Shen-lines  was first used is “Thai yoga massage”. Unlike Swedish or Deep Tissue Massage, in which a person passively lies on a massage table, the client lies on the floor and participates more actively in the massage.
Thai massage uses gentle pressure and stretching techniques to relax the body.
Thai massage increases energy and mental stimulation, while Swedish massage is more likely to improve relaxation and sleep.
Research has shown that Thai Massage releases tight muscles that cause blockages within different Sen or Energy Lines. These blockages reduce the flow of life energy, which results in stiffness, pain, and illness. Thai massage uses different techniques that either open or constrict different Sen to correct the flow of life energy.
